Progress at De Poort Art Gallery is truly charging ahead — quite literally, as you can see from our latest visitor! While we’ve been hard at work transforming the old stable into a vibrant and welcoming art space, it seems word is getting around. This week, we were joined by an unexpected guest who took it upon herself to inspect the building progress. Judging by her serious expression and confident stride, we’re assuming she’s in charge of quality control.

Thanks to long hours, determined effort, and the generous help of friends and family, we’ve made fantastic progress on the restoration. The walls are taking shape, the plaster is smoothing out, and the vision for the space is finally becoming reality. There’s still plenty to do, but the transformation is undeniable — and even our four-legged inspector seems moderately impressed (or possibly just interested in lunch).

It’s moments like these that remind us how special this journey is. Every bucket of cement, every nail driven, and every set of helping hands adds another layer of character to De Poort. Grand Opening

We’re counting down the days to the grand opening on 6 September 2025, and the excitement is building just as fast as the gallery itself.
